The 3 Ways Success of Others Means Success for You

I'm not gonna lie. This morning I really wanted to sleep in.

I wanted to pull the covers over my head, stay nice and warm and cozy in bed, and just fall back into dream land.

But then a vision of my friend and colleague, Christina Popovic, came into my head.

She's just been nominated for an award that has a cash prize of $10,000.

And she was nominated for this award as recognition for all her hard work and effort as a Life, Health and Mindset Coach - how badass it that?!

So as I thought of her this morning, it inspired me to get my ass out of bed and make full use of today - to kick ass in my business and help change lives for the better - including my own!

Which brings us to the first way the success of others can mean success for you...

1. Motivation

All too often we see someone else experiencing success and our immediate emotion is jealousy.

But what if we simply chose to be motivated instead?

What if instead of thinking a negative thought of "it should be ME being successful", we used it as an opportunity to get curious about how they reached their success?

Can you ask them what's working for them directly?

Can you research their background story and read about their success story?

Can you check out their social media accounts and take note of how they market themselves?

Getting motivated opens up so many doors for your own success.

2. Hire them as your mentor

When you see someone else doing what you want to do, it only makes sense to see if you're able to work with them.

They're clearly doing something right, if they're experiencing success.

This is certainly the case when I chose to hire Mandy Perry as my mentor.

Mandy has taken herself and her family from being on food stamps just two years ago, to now owning a successful six-figure business. How friggin' inspiring is THAT?!

So, because I know the importance of having a coach, I started following her on social media, and paying more attention to what she was saying.

It became a factor of "know, like, and trust" - you want your audience to know who you are and what you're about, you want them to like you, and you want them to trust you.

Mandy is all these things to me - so I hired her as my mentor!

3. Celebrating Others Creates High Vibe Attraction

When you're in the space of truly celebrating the success of others, it helps bring those positive high vibes back around your way.

Celebration mode can look like anything from a silly impromptu dance party to just writing a note to that person to let them know how proud you are of them.

Taking time to truly reflect on the feeling of gratitude to know someone who is experiencing success, can ultimately contribute to bringing that success around to you too!

So the next time you feel jealousy creeping up when you hear about someone earning success, stop and think about these three ways their success could make a positive impact on your life as well.

Because the world could use more celebrations.

So celebrate your sisters.

And soon enough, we'll be celebrating YOU!

The Importance of Collaboration: 3 Reasons You Should Collaborate

Last Friday, I was featured with Heather Hartman Coaching on her 'Real, Raw & Uncut AF - Live Spotlight Series'. I was so excited to be highlighted as her VERY FIRST EPISODE, as we discussed the importance of self care as a female entrepreneur.

It was an honour to be asked by Heather to be on her show (which also included having this nifty graphic shared all around Facebook) - because Heather is someone I truly admire and who also encourages women to step into what they're capable of.

While working with Heather in preparation of this episode, we naturally chatted about the importance of collaboration with other like-minded women.

Running your business - especially if it's mostly done online - can sometimes feel isolating.

When you're first starting out, it's typically just you in your office - by yourself, without a team.

And while having the freedom and flexibility to be your own boss is one of the main blessings I'm so grateful for - it can also mean that sometimes you feel lonely, without being surrounded by co-workers, like you're used to in the corporate world.

(But don't get me wrong - I still wouldn't go back to corporate, haha.)

With that being top of mind this week, I've compiled a short list of the top three reasons to collaborate with other women:

1. You may be surprised by what you can learn from seeing the way other women manage their business.

Checking out how someone else runs their business can be an awesome learning experience.

You can very easily learn a new trick to get better organized, to reach your target audience more effectively, or even to approach self-care more regularly.

Talking with other fempreneurs about what's working for them is a perfect opportunity to test out, and potentially adopt, some new behaviours in your own business to become more efficient.

2. Encouraging and supporting other women feels amazing!

If you're having a shitty day and feeling down on yourself, one of the best ways to pull yourself out of that funk is to love on some other ladies that you admire.

Comment on how they rocked their Facebook Live, or how delicious their breakfast looked in that photo on Instagram, or how fab their DIY board is coming along on Pinterest.

Spread love to others, and before you know it, you'll be in a much better mood - and can be proud of yourself for supporting your sisterhood.

3. It makes you feel like you actually have a support system in place.

I'm not gonna lie - my husband isn't the first one I turn to when I have questions about my business.

And it's not because I don't trust his opinion, it's because he's not currently growing a business, so why would I ask his expertise in that department?

When I have questions, or want to bounce ideas off people, I turn to the women who are also building businesses, just like me - because they GET IT.

They understand the struggles and challenges, and they can offer advice that is relevant, because they've been there.

And I offer my experiences too, when asked - because it's great to have the opportunity to contribute back to those women helping me.
